Claudia Henzen was born and raised in Zurich, Switzerland; she immigrated to Australia with her husband in 1995.
While living in Switzerland Claudia completed Certificates in commercial studies, fashion design and pattern-making. After making the move to Australia Claudia decided to act on her love of fashion design by enrolling in a Diploma of Clothing Industries at the South East Metropolitan College.

In 1999 she was invited to do work experience for a number of influential Australian designers including Collette Dinnigan, Akira Isogawa and Roberto Pierucci.
